Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, today chaired a meeting with petrol pump operators and LPG distributors to review the availability of fuel and cooking gas across the district.
The meeting was held at Dak Bungalow Khanabal and was attended by senior officials, including representatives from major oil companies and local gas agencies. The focus remained on assessing stock levels and ensuring smooth and uninterrupted supply to the public.
Officials informed that sufficient quantities of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available in the district, and supply systems are functioning normally without any disruption.
The DC directed all operators to strictly avoid hoarding and overpricing, warning that strict legal action will be taken against any violations. He also emphasized adherence to government guidelines to maintain a stable supply chain.
Representatives from fuel stations and LPG agencies assured full cooperation in ensuring regular supply.
Addressing public concerns, the DC urged citizens not to panic or indulge in unnecessary stockpiling. He clarified that there is no shortage and appealed to people to ignore rumors circulating on social media.
The administration also warned against spreading misinformation, stating that strict action will be taken against those attempting to create panic through fake news.
Residents have been advised to rely only on official updates from the district administration.
