Town Divas Held at Yaripora, Key Civic Issues Discussed

Yaripora, May 2:
Town Divas was successfully Organized at Yaripora under the supervision of the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Altaf Sahib, bringing together senior officials and local stakeholders to deliberate on pressing civic concerns and developmental priorities.

The event was attended by Executive Officer Irfan Sahib, Assistant Engineer (R&B) Zeeshan Sahib, Tehsildar Yaripora Javid Iqbal Sahib, and Block Medical Officer (BMO) Yaripora, along with other officials. The gathering served as a platform for open discussion on infrastructure gaps and public welfare measures in the area.
During the programme, several key issues affecting the town were raised and discussed in detail. A preliminary work plan was also outlined to address these concerns in a structured manner.

Er. Aaqib Shafi, Constituency Incharge Kulgam, highlighted a number of important public demands. These included the construction of a bypass road for Yaripora to ease traffic congestion, upgradation of the road stretch from Police Station Yaripora to Tajgen via H.S. Bugh, and the development of an efficient drainage system for Yaripora and surrounding areas.

He also emphasized the need for improved healthcare services, including the installation of an ATM at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Yaripora and ensuring adequate availability of doctors. Other issues raised included the development of public parks in various parts of Sonman, demolition of unsafe structures near Girls Higher Secondary School and Boys Higher Secondary School Yaripora, and effective traffic management measures.

Additionally, the beautification of the waterfall at Kanjikulla was proposed as a step towards promoting local tourism.

Officials present at the event gave a patient hearing to all concerns raised and assured that appropriate steps would be taken to address them in a time-bound manner. They reiterated their commitment to ensuring that all developmental initiatives are carried out in the larger public interest, without bias or preference for any particular group or affiliation.

The programme concluded with a renewed focus on coordinated efforts between the administration and the public to accelerate development and improve the quality of life in the region.
