Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, visited the Manzgam area today to assess the functioning of key public institutions, focusing on healthcare, education, and water supply infrastructure.
During his visit, the DC inspected the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Manzgam and reviewed the quality of patient care services being provided. He interacted with doctors, paramedical staff, and patients to understand ground-level challenges. He also examined the availability of medicines, medical equipment, and other essential facilities, stressing the importance of maintaining proper hygiene and delivering quality healthcare services.
Later, he visited the Higher Secondary School Manzgam, where he evaluated the academic environment and infrastructural arrangements. He highlighted the need to ensure a positive and supportive learning atmosphere for students.
The DC also inspected the ongoing work on the Water Supply Scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). He reviewed the progress of the common raw water main project meant to serve multiple water supply schemes in Manzgam.
He directed officials to expedite the remaining work and ensure that all households are connected at the earliest to achieve full coverage under Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs).
Officials informed that the raw water supply system has already been completed and made operational. Key infrastructure components, including pipe crossings at Kadlbal, anchor blocks, intake channels, and break pressure structures, have also been successfully executed.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Joint Director Planning Malik Suhail and other concerned officers.
