Yaripora, July 3: The Municipal Committee Yaripora on Friday organized a cleanliness and public awareness drive at the newly inaugurated Children's Park in Yaripora to promote environmental responsibility and discourage littering.
The campaign witnessed the participation of municipal employees and local social workers, who carried banners displaying messages such as "Say No to Plastic" and "Avoid the Use of Polythene Bags." Participants cleaned the park premises while urging visitors to maintain cleanliness and protect public spaces.
Officials from the Municipal Committee said the park has recently been opened for the general public and was developed to provide a clean and safe recreational space for families and children. However, they expressed concern over the increasing litter, including discarded plastic bags, plastic bottles, and other waste, found across the park despite the availability of dustbins installed at various locations.
The officials appealed to residents to use the dustbins provided and refrain from throwing garbage in open areas. They emphasized that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility and that public cooperation is essential to preserve the beauty of the park and the town.
Social workers participating in the drive also encouraged citizens to avoid single-use plastics, keep their surroundings clean, and contribute to a healthier environment. They urged everyone to protect public property and help make Yaripora a cleaner and greener place for future generations.
The Municipal Committee appealed to all residents to adopt responsible waste disposal practices, respect public spaces, and work together to keep the environment clean, stating that a clean environment is essential for a healthy community.
