As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, Kulgam Police organized a comprehensive drug awareness programme at Police Station Yaripora, bringing together members of the local community, market traders, and taxi union representatives.
The initiative was led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Yaripora under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Hatipora, and carried out in accordance with the directions of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, Sh. Anayat Ali Choudhary (IPS).
During the programme, participants were educated about the serious health and social consequences of drug abuse. Officials highlighted how substance misuse not only harms individuals but also disrupts families and weakens the fabric of society.
Emphasizing the importance of collective action, police अधिकारियों urged citizens, traders, and transport workers to remain vigilant and actively contribute to efforts aimed at eliminating drug-related activities from the region. The programme focused on building awareness as well as encouraging community responsibility in tackling the issue.
Authorities also appealed to the public to report any suspicious or drug-related activities. They assured that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety and encourage cooperation.
Reaffirming their commitment, Kulgam Police stated that they are dedicated to making the district drug-free and called for continued support and participation from the public in achieving this goal.
