Kulgam, April 22: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, Police Station Yaripora conducted a public awareness campaign in Yaripora market to educate people about the dangers of drug abuse.
The initiative aimed to reach a wide section of the community, including local residents, shopkeepers, and youth, highlighting the serious health and social consequences associated with substance abuse.
To show solidarity with the cause, a rally promoting a drug-free society was also organized. The rally witnessed active participation from local traders and members of the Taxi Union, reflecting strong community involvement and support.
The programme was led by the Station House Officer (SHO) Yaripora along with the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Hatipora, under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam, Anayat Ali Chowdhary (IPS).
During the interaction, police officials stressed that tackling drug abuse requires collective responsibility. Citizens were encouraged to stay alert and report any drug-related activities to the authorities. The police assured that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety.
Kulgam Police reiterated its commitment to curbing drug abuse and called for continued public cooperation in building a safer and drug-free society.
