Leh, Ladakh 18-March 2026 – The Meteorological Centre (MeT) in Leh has issued a fresh weather warning for the Union Territory of Ladakh as a strong Western Disturbance is expected to impact the region starting this afternoon, March 18, 2026.According to the latest bulletin issued at 6:00 PM IST on Tuesday, residents can expect a significant shift in weather patterns:

March 18th – 20th: Cloudy conditions with intermittent light to moderate rain and snow across scattered places in Ladakh.

Peak Activity: The main intensity of the weather system is expected between March 19th and 20th.

Heavy Snowfall Warning: There is a high chance of heavy snowfall over the Zojila and Shinkula areas beginning Wednesday afternoon.

Post-Activity: Conditions will remain generally cloudy and windy on March 21st, before turning mainly dry from March 22nd to 25th.
Travel Advisory: High Risk of Road Closures
The MeT department has issued a specific advisory for travelers and commuters:

Zojila Pass: There is a HIGH RISK of road closure between March 18th and 21st.
Outdoor Activities: Weather conditions are deemed unfavorable for outdoor trekking or high-altitude activities during this period.
