Three-Day Training Program for Census Functionaries Begins in Anantnag

Anantnag, March 27:
A three-day training programme for census functionaries was inaugurated today in Anantnag, organized by the Directorate of Census Operations, Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with the district administration. The training is being held at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal.
The programme is aimed at preparing officials for the upcoming Census-2027 by equipping them with modern tools and systems required for smooth and efficient operations.
Senior officials from the Directorate, including the Joint Chief Principal Census Officer, Assistant Chief Principal Census Officer, and other Census Officers, conducted detailed training sessions. The focus remained on the Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS)—a centralized digital platform developed to streamline and monitor census activities across all administrative levels.
Officials explained that CMMS enables end-to-end management of census operations, introduces a structured role-based system for functionaries, and provides real-time monitoring through dashboards and reports. The platform also supports organized training processes, field preparation, and transparent tracking of progress.
The training programme witnessed participation from various district and field-level officers, including Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), District Statistics & Evaluation Officer (DSEO), District Informatics Officer (NIC), Tehsildars, and Executive Officers of Municipal Committees.
The initiative is expected to strengthen preparedness and ensure efficient execution of the upcoming census process.
