In a continued effort to combat the growing menace of drug abuse, the Jammu and Kashmir Police organized a comprehensive drug awareness program at Behibugh Police Station on Tuesday. The initiative aimed to sensitize the general public, particularly the youth, about the dangers and long-term consequences of substance abuse.
The program was conducted under the leadership of Station House Officer (SHO) Behibugh, Muhsin Ahmad, along with his team of police personnel. The event was organized in accordance with the guidelines of (SSP) Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary(IPS)
Participants included members of the general public and young individuals from various areas of Behibugh, who attended the session in significant numbers. During the program, police officials highlighted the harmful effects of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society at large. They emphasized the importance of early awareness, prevention, and community cooperation in addressing the issue.
Officials urged attendees to remain vigilant and report any drug-related activities in their localities. They also encouraged youth to engage in constructive and healthy activities, steering away from negative influences.
Speaking on the occasion, SHO Muhsin Ahmad reiterated the police department’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse and fostering a safer, healthier community. He stressed that such awareness initiatives are crucial in building resilience among young people against substance misuse.
The program concluded with an interactive session, where participants shared their views and concerns, reflecting a positive community response towards the anti-drug campaign.
Authorities reaffirmed that similar awareness drives will continue across the district to strengthen public engagement and curb the spread of drug abuse.
