Pahalgam: A major fire broke out at Asal Resort in the tourist town of Pahalgam around 1:00 am on Tuesday during the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr, causing extensive damage to the property.
According to local residents, flames suddenly erupted from the resort building and quickly spread throughout the structure. People living nearby immediately alerted the authorities as thick smoke and flames engulfed parts of the resort.
Fire and Emergency Services teams rushed to the spot and launched an operation to control the blaze. After several hours of effort, firefighters managed to bring the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to nearby buildings.
Officials said the resort suffered significant damage in the incident. However, no loss of life or injuries have been reported so far.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and authorities have started an investigation into the incident.
The fire occurred on the sacred night of Shab-e-Qadr during the holy month of Ramadan, adding to the concern among the local community and visitors in the area.
